Residency: 16-22.04 all day
Macao, Viale Molise 68
The 2-year practice-based and transdisciplinary study course is an educational framework for designers that aim to contribute to more sustainable, resilient and fair futures — both locally and trans-locally. Eco-Social Design is striving for future-viable modes of production, consumption and life — by exploring sustainable economic cultures, social practices and politics of everyday life. Based on these general aims and values the (co-)design of tools, spaces, services, tangible prototypes, narrations and experiences is understood as an integrated task. Students are designing for the »real world«, in project-oriented collaborations with external partners like public institutions, social enterprises, companies, NGOs or citizen initiatives.
By Design or by Disaster
In 2018 »Commoning« was the focus of the annual conference of the MA Eco-Social Design — on doing things together to fulfil needs in a self-organised way. What can design can do for commoning? And how can design adopt and adapt commons-oriented ideas, values and practices?
